Braxton Labs Blood Sugar Ultra

As their name suggests, Braxton Labs Blood Sugar Ultra places a large focus on controlling blood sugar as a means for staying in optimal health. This is an important aspect of appetite control that most manufacturers mistakenly ignore. Therefore we were pleased to see the inclusion of Gymnema Sylvestre, which is used to reduce sugar cravings by blocking the receptors used to taste sugar, thus making sugar less tasty. However, we would have liked to see a higher dose of Gymnema Sylvestre. A mere 50mg is lower than the recommended dose according to clinical studies. Additionally, while we noted the presence of appetite busters such as Chromium and Cayenne Pepper, we also noted that many crucial ingredients such as White Kidney Bean and African Mango Seed were noticeably absent. Overall though, we like this manufacturer and feel that they formulated a fairly decent product.

When reviewing this product, we were pleased to see a price tag that suggests quality – not cheap, but definitely affordable. We appreciated the fact they included Gymnema Sylvestre and that they included quality ingredients. Unfortunately, we felt that they were simply lacking in many key ingredients that are backed by scientific research and their formula did not have many positive reviews that we were able to find. They could also have definitely improved the kind of guarantee they provide but we realize that a good guarantee usually comes with a manufacturer’s confidence in the results you will experience so that could explain why.

Phen Maxx Caps

Phen Maxx Caps is one of the many products to mimic a similar-sounding prescription appetite suppressing medication. This controversial drug that is known to help people to lose weight but also has extreme side effects such as jitters, shortness of breath, heart palpitations and nausea. Phen Maxx Caps does not have the same ingredients as, but its manufacturer, MD Pharma, would like customers to think that it does. This is apparent from the 37.5 featured prominently on the front label as the dose of said drug is 37.5mg. The actual amount that Phen Maxx Caps contains is 300mg. 

A few issues arose while we were researching this product. One was the difficulty in finding a list of ingredients. Usually, manufacturers will add an image of the front and back of the label on their website. However, on Phen Maxx Caps’ website there is only a photo of the front of the label. The rest of the images are before and after weight-loss photos. Why would a manufacturer seek to hide its ingredients? In this case it may be because they are found in a proprietary blend and therefore the exact quantities are unknown. This means the results are unknown as well.

While we were pleased to see the addition of African Mango Seed in this formula as it adds to the amount of Leptin in the body, again, it is unclear what the dose is and if it will be truly effective.    

The most troubling aspect of this product is the presence of stimulants we found – caffeine and phenylethylamine. These may cause harmful side effects in people such as jitters, headaches and increased blood pressure. It is something to be aware of depending on how much of this product you consume. Because of this, it is not recommended to take on a long term basis.

But does this work? Customers are divided down the middle as to the efficacy of this product. We would suggest reading both the positive and negative reviews from real customers before purchasing this pricey supplement.
